Chos Malal is a little town, with 15000 inhabitants. It is nevertheless the biggest one for 200 kilometers around. Its streets are perpendicular, numerous small places shade the rare lowns where the "mate drinkers" sit down. It's never raining here - during the summer -, clouds remain hung on the Andean summits and discharge their precious water on the Chilean side. On the other hand, the wind blows regularly, it rushes into canyons and blows away the hats of the Gauchos
